Some family pics

We were in Maryville a couple weeks ago and decided we finally need to take the Avendano family pic we always talk about taking but never do. Since Sandra is so American now she decided we should dress all in white and look extra classy. CORRECTION: this was Nere's idea, Sandra just LOVED it because it was "American". Here are a few good ones from our amateur photo shoot. Below is the 4 generation of women shot. Pretty Cool

And this pic just makes me smile. Sandra and I are so lucky to have each other and 2 awesome little bambinos. We still feel like we did in college when we met, we just have 2 little sidekicks to help us smile and make us laugh along the way.

Happy Halloween

At our party friday Jim was a box of cereal( Theo's) for Theo Epstein- the Cubs President of Baseball Operations. Tom came as Theo to support his cereal he will get after the Cubs win the series
I took Santi to Liberty Village today where they had trick or treating for kids. It was awesome. He got tons of stuff. It was cool to have the residents see my little man. Here is his stash. I didnt take any pics of him with the residents. Not sure if it woud violate privacy laws.

At the party friday night. Jane was the scariest thing of all: A cardinals fan Sofia wore one of her many princess dresses. She is Rapunzel here, after that she became Snow White.

When I was a kid I could eat amazing amounts of candy

Halloween is around the corner and a great book to read around this time is "Halloween" by Jerry Seinfeld. It is basically a bit of his about how you hear about Halloween as a kid and can't believe people are just giving away candy for free and all you have to do to get the candy is dress up. It is very funny and Sofia pretty much has it memorized. The book came with an audio cd. that is on our Ipod now. Come over if you wanna hear it or have Vince read the book to you.
In other news,
Sandra was the Eagle mascot again Friday night at the Dunlap Football game. The students love her and think she is hilarious. (I dont see it :) Sofia loves Kindergarten and Dance class.
Santiago has increased his vocab recently. His total of words includes: "Ball, No, Jesus, Pizza, pasta. Bye Bye, Mas, gracias, mami, daddy, baby, and Nana (for Hermana-spanish for sister)

Just clownin' around

Here are some pics from our trip to the circus last weekend. Ringling bros. was at the Civic Center and we had to take the kids. It was a great time. I was a little tired, having worked the night before, sleeping for an hour before going to the circus, but it was well worth it.

Sofia and I are a couple of clowns, so this picture is very fitting. You have to laugh and have a good time while you can. The kids are only this age for so long. There are so many more things I want to do as a family. A trip across country in an RV would be fun, a trip to Cooperstown to the Baseball hall of fame (when Santi is 8 years old or so), and definitely returning to Disney.
BTW, the top picture is Santi impersonating Liberace. If you dont know who that is, Look it up!

Warrior Dash 2011

Sandra and I traveled to Rockford last weekend to stay with friends Jeff and Nichole. More friends: Jeremy, Mikelle, Tom, Laura, and Jane joined us for the warrior dash. Its a crazy 5K filled with obstacles, fire and a mudpit. It was a lot of fun. We made it over all obstacles and finished the race in 39 minutes. We werent going for time, but more for style points as you can see in our outfits. It was fun and something we will always remember
