Well Sandra and I didnt win the St. Jude dream home out by Grand Prairie. We are pretty bumbed but when there are over 5,000 tickets I guess we can't be too surprised. Oh well, I guess we have to stay where we are a few more years until we can afford to move into the dunlap school district for the kids.
In other news, Sandra is still working hard on her online grad classes, Vince is loving spending time with Sofia and Santiago during the day. The nice weather means many more trips to the zoo and the park. We start softball tomorrow and play every Tuesday from now through July. We would love some fans to come out and cheer us on and laugh at Sandra :)
Oh yeah and Sandra and I ran a 5k this past saturday at Detweiller Park. It was the Lakeview Museum interplanetary 5k run. Our goal was to run it in under 30 minutes. Sandra ran it in 28:28 and I (Vince) finished it in 27:30. Mission Accomplished!!!
That same day was Dunlap Prom. Sandra got paid to take tickets and we got a free meal and a night out too. The Pic above is us in the backyard before leaving for Prom. I dont mean to toot our own horn, but we are 2 sexy bitches :) Have a good week everyone

Thanks Uncle Sam

Thanks to our tax return money we are getting a new bedroom set. Its called the Porter Sleigh bed from Ashley Furniture. It has 2 big storage drawers in the front. We have been using just a metal frame for our bed from Sam's Club. We will also be getting a new dresser/mirror and 2 nightstands. We have been using an old dresser set handed down from my mom and Paul. It will be nice to have a set to call our own and one that is more modern. It should be here in about 4 weeks... Can't wait!!!

A Cubs Lubie

This is called a Cubs Lubie and it is the giveaway at the Cubs game we are going to on June 1st. We have to take the kids to atleast 1 Cubs game a year and we got pretty good seats to this game vs. the Astros. Should be fun. Fantasy baseball draft tomorrow and hopefully nice weather so we can run outside more and go to the Zoo. We can't wait for spring weather.

Vince career change

In case you hadn't heard, I am going to be taking a Nursing class at MTI in East Peoria this summer in order to get my CNA. That is a Certified Nurse Assistant. I will be done by the end of July, (then Sandra and I are going to Costa Rica in early August with 15 or so high school kids.)

I love the elderly and think it will be fun to work with them. Also getting off unemployment and having a steady job again will be good for our family. Hopefully the class goes well and I pass the certification test at the end. Then I will hopefully get a job at a Hospital or Nursing home soon after. Sofia has already said she wants to come with me to help with the older people. I told her she can't come with me to work, but maybe on a day off we can go and visit the people cause I'm sure they would love to see kids visit them.
