Disney on Ice Jan 18th

I'm not sure who had a better time, Sandra or Sofia? I had a great time seeing the smiles on their faces.
Sofia got a Lightning McQueen hat with her cotton candy. I think she enjoyed both of them.
It was cool that they had actual cars from the movie Cars on the Ice.
This is Lion King. It was a cool show and definitely a good time for ages Sofia to Sandra.

Cubs caravan Jan 15th

Above is Sandra with Pat Hughes. He does the radio broadcasts with Ron Santo for the Cubs. Sandra was so happy he was there. Below is me (and some random lady) with Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija. Sandra said he looked like a wax figure. It was a fun time we got an autograph from everyone we wanted and even those we really didn't want. It was like Negative 20 degrees that night but worth it.

St.Louis trip 12/30/08

Above is Sofia with her cousin Genesis on a camel at the Way of lights outside St. Louis and below is sofia and vince feeding a camel. (Yes the camel is on the right)

Below is Sofia with the cousins on a trolly at the Budweiser Tour.

These are pictures of us at the Arch. Sofia loved seeing the abuelos van look as small as a bug.

Sofia loved the little time capsules you ride up in. She helped calm the nerves of the people that rode with us.

Everyone chooses their career... for the most part

So, today was an oddly upsetting day for me. I woke up at 5:15 only to hit the alarm clock 3 times because I had a nightmare that Vince & I had been arrested for "Car demeaning". I'm not sure what that means, only that I asked the police officer in my dream and he said that it had to do something with changing parts in my car without pre-approval... what? Anyway, I got up and I got completely ready. I decided that I wouldn't wear my contacts today because I just didn't feel like it. I was in the kitchen, dressed and ready for the next step... feed louie, dry my hair, followed by going outside to give him a bathroom opportunity. As I entered the kitchen with my phone (I always put it on silence it case it goes off so it won't wake up Vince & Sofia) to take my daily dosage of my thyroid medication, I noticed that my phone said I had a text message from a colleague and a voice mail. I panicked! Oh no! I hope they are ok, what could have happened? I listen to the voice mail that is from ANOTHER colleague and he informs me that we have no school today. WHAT? No joke I had been lesson planning while I was getting ready so I could get whatever I needed to get done when I got to work. You see, I was in total shock BECAUSE Vince, Sofia, and I had been working in the basement and I didn't get to catch any of the news or check internet all afternoon/evening. So, when I was told NO SCHOOL, I was like WHAT?? I'm ready to go, I can get to my car, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?? I was so "oddly upset". Who is upset at not having to go to work, a free day, just stay at home in your pajamas, make waffles, etc. I guess I was. I took Louie out, and I was so flustered that I didn't even dry my hair (COLD!) once I came back inside I decided, well I can't change it so here goes my day. I read Jerry Seinfield's book SeinLanguage. HILARIOUS! Yes, I read the whole thing before Vince & Sofia woke up to see mami. Vince- What are you doing here? Sandra- I called in sick Vince- You called in sick? Why? Sandra- I'm just kidding, it's a snow day. Vince- Really? We got that much they were predicting 1 to 3 inches. Sandra- Really? This is something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY.

What a morning! I made waffles for us and banana shakes. It was fun. We rarely have a morning as a family with Vince's work schedule. We continued work in the basement and when we were upstairs, I saw the mailman trecking through the snow.... we all choose our careers for the most part.

Special Guest @ Cubs Caravan

The Cubs Caravan is on Thursday in Peoria. It will be full of cubs coaches and players. 3 players I hope to get autographs from are soon to be closer Carlos Marmol, former Notre Dame wide receiver and current flamethrower Jeff Samardzija, and maybe the Cubs 5th starter Sean Marshall.
But there will be someone else special there this year. That someone is Sandra Iadipaolo. She might not be a die hard Cubs fan, but she is learning and knows more Cubs players than my stepdad knows Cardinals players.
It will be fun to have her there, plus it will help my chances in getting the autographs i want and maybe getting pictures taken with these players. maybe her and Marmol can converse in their native tongue. And when Marmol comes out to close down Game 6 of the World Series, Sandra can look at me and say: "I know him".

Secret Project

Well Happy Belated New Year!!! We have been busy fixing up the basement. I can't reveal what we are doing exactly, but it is pretty sweet. You'll have to come over and see for yourself. We are looking to have it ready by February 7th which is Sofia's birthday party. We are having her party at home this year. Dora will be there and plenty of pizza. Some friends from college are coming down from Chicago so it should be an awesome weekend.
The basement won't be totally finished yet cause we still need to add a shower where the toilet and sink are, but the rest of the basement is undergoing a major renovation.
"There is so much more much room for activities."(Step Brothers Quote)
