We're In...

We are moved into the new place. A lot of boxes to go through and a lot of work ahead but we are officially moved in. Our address in case you don't have it is
2703 W. Huntington Dr.
Peoria, Il 61614
New home phone # is 309-839-1526. It is a weird phone # for Peoria, but I guess it is the new numbers for Comcast digital phone service. We consolidated our TV, phone, and internet all through comcast. The guy was at our house for 3 hours yesterday putting cable in every bedroom and ran some to the basement as well. We will post pics this weekend hopefully when we get the computer up and running at home.

5 days to go...

We're still alive. The house is full of boxes and we are nearing the "Home" stretch. Tuesday should be a very interesting day. Sandra is looking forward to the game of Tetris we will play as we fill up the Budget truck with our things. The forecast says chance of rain tuesday so let's hope that changes by then. I will be picking up the truck around 1pm tuesday so feel free to come by anytime after that. Have a Happy Memorial Day weekend.

Sofia to the rescue...

S; My parents took care of Sofia a few weeks ago at their place. They live next door to a family with small children that have the little tike's red car. Apparently Sofia loved it, so Abuelo just had to go buy it for her plus there was a slight scuffle when trying to share. He didn't just get the red car though, he had to get the Ride & Rescue Cozy Coupe. I know, it just means a really pimped out firetruck for 1.5 to 5 year olds. It features an electronic microphone with flashing lights and 7 siren sound patterns. It has rear storage, caster front wheels, a working door, horn and clicking key. Wow! Abuelo wanted to make sure Sofia rode in style. Plus, Abuela works for the fire marshall so it only makes sense. We didn't get to see it because the Abuelo's decided it should stay in Springfield since we're moving and there's no use to bring it here since its final destination is obviously else where. It is apparent from the picture that Sofia doesn't like it at all (exaggeration). Thought you all would enjoy...

Anything for a Buck

As many of you know the Cubs have a new player this year that is from Japan. Fukudome has done pretty well in his "rookie" season and has created a lot of buzz at Wrigley Field (especially in the right field bleachers). Well, where there is demand there will be people looking to take advantage of the situation. Wrigley Field vendors have banned the sale of some offensive t-shirts being sold around the ballpark. But of course there are the knock-off vendors that can sell shirts across the street from Wrigley Field and get away with it. They are kinda funny, but I would never wear one. I would feel so uncomfortable if I was wearing one and an asian person walked by and saw me wearing it. I realize people are just trying to make a living and capitalize on the popularity of a new player, but seriously folks. I saw one shirt that said: "Get FUK'd!" Come On. I would wear a shirt with the phrase below on it.

We lost.... again....

S: The Killer Chipmunks are now 0-5. We have lost every single game (minus a forfeit) in extra innings and by one or two runs. This is sad, but true. MAYBE, if we had some FANS that were sitting at home on their couches instead of coming outside to watch an AWESOME game we would win. Next game is at 6pm, be there or we'll probably lose, again.

V: If we were a sponsored team, they would probably drop us.

3 weeks to go!!!

We have the Moving Truck rented and are less than 3 weeks away from moving day. A lot of peopl have told us to stay away from U-haul so I reserved a 26 foot long Budget truck. We will pick it up around noon on Tuesday May 27th and will pack everything in there that afternoon and evening. If you are free and willing to help please stop by. We will supply pizza to everyone that helps out.
We have one thing left to fix on our house to comply with the repair amendment made after the house inspection. Thanks to Grandpa Paul for installing the 2 GFI outlets they required. Now all that is left is a new flex connection to the water heater.

On the Huntington house they are fixing 2 leaky sinks, a gas leak, a cracked plumbing vent on the roof, and the bathroom vent currently vents into the attic so they are going to vent that outside. Pretty exciting. If I wasn't at work until 1am I would do some packing, It'll have to wait until friday. One of the reasons I chose Budget is because of the funny moving tips they have on their trucks...

Pack, pack, pack....

All we do is pack and Sofia is loving every minute of it, although she requests for us to put things back where they belong. She is starting to get the concept, but I don't think she realizes that we don't have to pack ourselves literally. She got inside this box this weekend, while I was packing somethings upstairs...

We had a great weekend. Besides going to the play, we had company at the house. My parents came down and hung out with us. We got to see the new house and we went out for ice cream afterwards. Sofia loved her no sugar added chocolate yogurt, she had it all over her face and we had to eat it outside to prevent from having crazy clean-up issues.
We have the new house inspection tonight and we also have a softball game this evening.

Going to a musical

Well, we will be viewing Seussical the Musical tonight for free. It should be pretty interesting. I hope Sofia likes the weird costumes and the singing. I'll be chaperoning prom tomorrow, but overall we'll be packing like crazy. Hope you all have a great weekend!
