we haven't fallen off the face of the earth, at least not yet

Well, the Iadipaolo household survived yet another crazy theatre show that I just HAD to be in. Evita FINALLY ended this past weekend. I had an incredible time, met some really cool people (gotta love networking), and did it all PREGNANT!!

Yeah, so most of the people around home know this, but others do not. So, I should take the time explain....

well, when a... nevermind.

We are due May 2nd, so we are 17 weeks along. We don't know the gender of the baby, YET, but will find out hopefully at our anatomy sonogram on December 23rd. We are planning to give the grandparents gifts to let them know the gender of the baby... ideas are welcome!!

We are all doing well. Now that the show is over we have more time to spend together as a family and I can rest again. Oh, and yes I found out I was pregnant the first week of rehearsals!

Oh, and in case you are wondering why I haven't posted in like AGES. It's because they blocked blogs at work and couldn't get to it at home during my 1.5 hours of time before rehearsals almost every night of the week. I hope to update this on more of a dailyish basis.

Happy Turkey day!!!

It's been a while....

So, I haven't written in a while. Here's what's up...

Sofia is loving school still. She is learning her numbers and letters very well. She is an avid artist. We have many of her art displayed proudly around the house.

Vince has cleaned up the yard a million times because of the wonderful trees in our neighborhood. He says next time we move there won't be any trees for at least 8 miles from our house. Ha ha! I said we should just move to a desert.

Me- doing well. Most of you know that I'm PREGNANT!! Others, may have just found out! We are expecting May 2nd. So far so good :)

Louie- still a couch potato dog.

That's it! The short version. Have a safe Halloween tomorrow!

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

I love that Sofia is getting so much taught to her at her school. Yesterday we must have heard this song a million times. It's so funny that she sings it with as much enthusiasm as the first time. She is learning about apples at school right now. They are to cook and eat apples tomorrow. She's really excited about that since I made cinnamon apples the other day... YUM!

when it rains it pours!

So, I received a solo on Tuesday and guess what!? I also got the opening dialogue of the show (which will be done in Spanish and then in English) and I also have a duet with one of the leads :) It seems that I have impressed the music director or probably just got really lucky. Rehearsal is fun and I'm meeting some new people, but I'm also hanging out with the people that I did Man of La Mancha with. We have only been singing at practices, but next Wednesay we are "blocking" that means we are learning where we are on stage during the show. Very cool.

In other news, Vince's last day of work is Sunday and he seems thrilled that the "torture" is finally over. He's tired of waiting for the last day and them switching the date. Today Vince said he literally sat for 10 hours and watched TV. Before the automation, he had all kinds of buttons to push, but now he just watches. Even if something goes wrong he can't do anything about it since Indiana is in control. So a couple of more days and it will all be over.

Sofia is enjoying school, she made a pig portrait that she brought home that is proudly displayed on the refridgerator door. It's so cute, it's about 20 inches big and it has these big googly eyes and buttons for the snout. It's bright pink and I really like it cuz it makes me smile everytime. Sunday, Vince is going to the Packers vs. Rams game in St. Louis and I think Sofia and I are going to take the time to do some art projects at home. She doesn't have a Dunlap shirt so we'll make one of those and I need an Evita shirt (I made one for Man of La Mancha). Pretty cool.
Maybe we'll start on Christmas gifts, we'll see.... she really enjoys painting!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

I GOT A SOLO!!!

So, EVITA practice went VERY WELL last night. In "A New Argentina" there are 8 solos that the workers are talking about what things could change with the new movement of Peron. Anyway, I have solo #7 which is.... More public spending. THAT'S IT. 3 words. nothing more, nothing less. I was thrilled :) And, I also asked the music director if Sofia could be in the show and she said that it would be cool during the big chorus songs. She's going to clear it by our director, but she seems to think he'll be ok with it. How fun! Sofia and I in a show together! COME SEE IT!!

I'M SO TIRED!

Last night, Vince, my dad, Vince's mom and step dad and myself went to the Cubs vs Cards game at Busch Stadium. When we originally bought the tickets it was a 1:20pm game on Sunday. Unfortunately for us, ESPN decided it would be their 7pm game. The game went into extra innings and the cubbies pulled it off with a win of 6-3! Yeah! Except I was so upset that the game ended even later than anticipated that I didn't really enjoy it. We got home around 2:30am and I finally got some z's around 3ish. Oh, did I mention Zambrano (the Venezuelan pitcher) started the game? Ever since he was signed on by the Cubbies I wanted to watch him pitch and I finally got the chance. Anyhow, I woke up at 6am and went off to work.

I'M SO TIRED!!! Definitely worth it, but the consequences have not been fun.

3 year old math

Vince, Sofia, and I are doing well. We are planning to go to the Pumpkin Festival tomorrow since I have practice almost every night during the week. I only have 2 days that I don't have rehearsal and I miss spending time with Sofia and Vince. She's so funny and inquisitive these days. She said to me last night, "Can you read me a book from your head tonight.?" In other words, a story that I make up without the use of an actual book. I loved it, she's getting to be such a great little person. I'm so proud of her, and biased of course, but it doesn't matter. We're teaching her how to add currently (Yeah, Tio Tom cool huh?). We have these foam numbers and they have the math symbols so we've been doing 1 + 2 = 3. She thinks it's really cool and once you get started she won't stop. She wants you to come up with as many combinations of problems as possible... so 3 - 2 = 1.

Pretty cool.
